The New OCBV
Welcome to the brand new site for OCBV! It’s taken a while to get up and running, but we’re finally here. There’s a lot of new changes and additions as well.
The first difference is our domain name. Instead of ocbeachvacations.com, we’re now at ocbv.com. I’m hopeful this simplified and shortened URL will be more easily remembered by guests, and can give us a bit more cred online. Plus, it just looks cooler.
The next big change is the ability to take direct bookings. This has been something we’ve been wanting for a long time now, and we’re happy we’ve finally been able to make it happen. With Airbnb continuing to make moves that penalize hosts, it’s about time we got some independence.
The direct booking engine is powered by Uplisting, a relatively new channel manager. We looked at a lot of different options, and Uplisting was the best by far. Not only is there the direct booking engine, there’s also an owner portal, automated messages, cross-platform posting, and so much more.
I’m embarrassed to admit that I was against using a channel manager for a long time. Back when we only had two or three properties, I didn’t see the need. But now as 26 listings and counting, our workload is becoming too much for Airbnb alone to handle.
Growth has been one of my main goals of OCBV for some time now. That’s why client acquisition is another main focus of this new site. We’ve got a summary of our duties and offerings on our Management page, and an easy way for clients to get in contact with us on our Contact page.
And of course, this new blog. I’m not entirely sure what kind of things we’re going to post here, but probably some general updates on the business, and things going on in Ocean City. There’s always something going on in town, so we might as well farm it for content.
It’s all very exciting, and I’m looking forward to sharing some more updates. Stay tuned for more soon!
